Work Surfaces, also referred to as "false tops" rest on top of the drawers and provide a convenient, easy-access surface for you to cook, food prep, or organize your pack for the day. They are made of half inch thick bamboo plywood and come treated with a food-grade mineral oil for extra protection. Work Surfaces are not drawer specific-- one of them can be used on either drawer!

The Sleeper Section secures to the back edge of the drawer system and rests on top of the folded backrests of the 2nd row seats. It comes as two fully removable sections which are either split 60/40 or 50/50 to match the configuration of the 2nd row backrests. Most designs come with Hinged Extensions which span over the footwell of the 2nd row and provide an even longer sleeping space.

Yes! The drawer dividers are fully removable to make room for any larger gear that you'd like to store. Each drawer comes standard with 3 removable dividers.

Yes! Our modular platform design allows you to remove the sleeper section of the platform and maintain access to the backseats without having to remove the trunk drawer system. You can either store these front sections in the trunk, or fully remove them from your vehicle when you're not camping and don't need them.

There are two main benefits of having a sleeper platform - 1) perfectly level sleeping area that extends over the passenger footwells, and 2) increased storage space and better organization in your vehicle. SUVs will fill up real quick when packed with all your camp stuff and additional gear. Our platform design makes it easy to maximize your storage space, so you don't have to completely unload your vehicle when you're ready to snooze.

It depends on the build that you're looking for. We're happy to accommodate simple customizations to our platform designs. More complex builds will require the vehicle to be onsite at our shop in Denver, CO. Please contact us directly for any custom inquiries.

If you already have backpacking mattresses, those work great. Otherwise, the most comfortable mattresses that we've tested are the MegaMat Auto or MegaMat Duo from EXPED. A memory foam mattress pad (a few inches thick) is also a more budget-friendly option.

Yes, absolutely. For local customers that are able to come to our shop, we handle the full assembly and install of your platform free of charge. Once the build process begins, we will reach out to you to schedule a time for install.

If your product arrives damaged due to shipping, please notify us as soon as possible. We will replace any components damaged during transit at no additional cost. For more information, head over to our Warranty & Repair page.

Platform kits are made to order and therefore cannot be returned for a full refund once the manufacturing process has started. If there is an issue with your kit, please email us directly at info@colfaxcampers.com and we will work diligently with you to find a solution!
