The work surfaces rest in place on top of the drawers, which (exactly as it sounds) make a great work surface for holding a camp stove, prepping a meal, or packing up gear for the day. They are made of high quality bamboo plywood which comes treated with a food safe mineral oil. These work surfaces are resistant to bacteria and can be easily cleaned with soapy water after that long weekend camp trip!

Yes! Our modular platform design allows you to remove both front sections of the platform and maintain access to the backseats without having to remove the trunk drawer system. You can either store the front sections in the trunk, or fully remove them from your vehicle when you're not camping.

If you already have backpacking mattresses, those work great. Otherwise, the most comfortable mattresses that we've tested are the MegaMat Auto or MegaMat Duo 10 from EXPED. A memory foam mattress pad (a few inches thick) is also a more budget-friendly option.
